SAMERC 2026

21-23 October 2026 - MFS Angle Park Training Centre, Angle Park, SA

SAMERC is proudly coordinated by a dedicated team of volunteers from the South Australian Mines Emergency Response Competition Association. All participants are required to adhere to SAMERC's Work Health and Safety (WHS) processes throughout the event.


Competition Purpose

The competition provides practical, scenario-based training in Mine Rescue Operations, allowing emergency response teams to test and demonstrate capability across a range of disciplines.


Exercises & Scenarios

Teams will compete in multiple exercises, including:

  • Theory
  • Mass Casualty
  • Fire Fighting
  • Vertical Rescue
  • Team Skills
  • SCBA Search & Rescue
  • Industrial Rescue
  • Road Crash Rescue
  • Confined Space Rescue
  • Underground or Surface Rescue

Awards

Trophies will be presented for:

  • Overall SAMERC Perpetual Trophy Winner
  • Winners of each individual exercise
  • Best Team Captain
  • SAMERC Chairman's Award
    (Presented to the team that best demonstrates SAMERC values)
