About SAMERC

The South Australian Mines Emergency Response Competition (SAMERC) is designed to test the skills, capability and knowledge of teams who may be called upon to respond during a mine emergency. Held annually, the Competition provides realistic and challenging scenarios that help build confidence and strengthen emergency response capacity across the sector.

In 2024, the SA Mine Rescue Competitions proudly celebrated their 15th anniversary - a significant milestone and a testament to the dedication of the competitors, sponsors, host sites, volunteers, and organisers who contribute to the event each year. We extend our thanks to the local and broader mining community for their ongoing support and look forward to continuing this important tradition well into the future.
